Meet the Creatives Behind the Aloha
At Aloha Tattoos, our artists aren’t just ink slingers, oh no, there’s so much more… we are storytellers, skin sorcerers, and wizards of the needle. - ok thats a bit much, but we really do our best to bring each piece to life. Each one of us brings their own unique style, passion, and a borderline unhealthy obsession with making your tattoo dreams a reality. Whether you’re after bold traditional, fine-line micro tattoos, jaw-dropping realism, or an ancient tribal masterpiece, we’ve got the perfect artist for you.
What Makes Our Artists Different?
Versatile & Skilled – From Polynesian tribal to Norse mythology, fine-line elegance to full-color chaos, and Black and Grey Smoothness our team can do it all.
Drama-Free Zone – No egos, no attitudes—just a laid-back, friendly crew who love what they do.
Custom Ink, Every Time – No cookie-cutter designs. We craft every piece with intention, respect, and a whole lot of artistic flair.
Obsessed with Art – If they’re not tattooing, they’re drawing, painting, or dreaming up their next masterpiece.
So, who’s behind the ink? Check out our lineup of creatives below, and get to know the people turning your tattoo ideas into living art. Or better yet, stop by and say hey—just be prepared to leave with a new tattoo idea (or two). 🤙
Lalo Ramirez
Lead Artist
Specialties:
Black & Grey Realism, Portraits, Animals, Graffiti, Lettering & Calligraphy, Chicano Style, Illustrative, Traditional
Lalo’s style is realism with an edge—melding graffiti energy and script finesse into jaw-dropping portraits and animal work. Born in New Jersey, now home in SLC, he’s open for both walk-ins and appointments, crafting realism that pops and stories that stick.
Paul
Lead Artist
Specialties:
Portraits • Bold Color • Custom Concepts
Paul’s first tattoo was on himself—a prank, a memory, and a wild beginning. Now, five years later, he channels his fascination with long-lasting, expressive art into powerful portraits and bold color tattoos. He’s drawn to the challenge of capturing someone’s essence in ink, combining technical precision with vibrant energy.
Kevan
Resident Artist
Specialties:
Anime (Color & B/G) • Floral • New School • Illustrative • Small & Cute Tattoos
Wants to do more:
Blackwork • American & Japanese Traditional • Ornamental • Large-scale Projects
Kevan’s tattoos are where nostalgia, whimsy, and precision meet. From tiny anime symbols to colorful floral sleeves, his style feels like a warm hoodie in the fall—his favorite season, obviously. He brings humor, empathy, and detail to everything he creates, whether it’s a barn owl coverup or a bright new-school banger.
“It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. It’s the hard that makes it great.” – A League of Their Own
Annalee
Resident Artist
Specialties:
Custom Mandalas • Tribal • Blackwork • Fine Line • Small Color Pieces
Wants to do more:
Primitive Design • Intentional Symbolism • Black & Grey Japanese • Abstract & Empowerment Tattoos
Annalee blends artistic intention with ancient wisdom. Whether she’s designing personal empowerment sigils, tribal flow, or sacred mandalas, her work centers around meaning, energy, and connection. Her first tattoo symbolized spiritual freedom—and that spirit continues in every piece she creates. When she’s not tattooing, you’ll find her soaking in the woods, making music, or eating kimchi.
“I love tattoo art that flows with the body, contains historical symbology, and empowers the wearer.”
Fernando
Resident Artist
Specialties:
Anime (Blackwork) • Floral (Color & Black) • Ornamental • Art Nouveau • Microrealism • Animals • Renaissance & Medieval Art • Watercolor • Japanese
Fernando’s art floats somewhere between the past and the future. Deeply inspired by Renaissance paintings, floral color palettes, and the geometry of ornamental blackwork, he brings soul and softness to every design. His love for music—especially playing bass—shapes the rhythm in his tattoos. He’s been tattooing for over a decade and believes the best studios have no ego, just good people making great work together.
“The day we stop learning is the day we stop growing as artists.”
Jon Poulson
Owner & Lead Artist
Specialties:
Polynesian Tribal • Norse/Viking & Celtic • Sacred Geometry & Mandala • Realism • Ornamental • Cultural Storytelling Tattoos
Founder of both Aloha Tattoos and Ancient Marks, Jon is a master tattooist with over 20 years of experience—and a deep respect for the sacred traditions behind the art. He’s known for creating powerful, story-driven tattoos rooted in history, heritage, and harmony. Whether it’s a bold Polynesian sleeve drawn freehand, a BindRune charged with Norse symbolism, or a sacred geometry piece that flows perfectly with the body, Jon brings technical excellence and spiritual connection to every session.
Clients travel from all over the country to work with Jon—because his work isn’t just about ink, it’s about meaning.
When he’s not tattooing, he’s leading his team, building community, or creating immersive experiences inside the reef-inspired shop he built with heart and vision.
“Tattooing is more than a craft. It’s a bridge between identity, culture, and personal evolution.”
