I’m a Salt Lake native, food enthusiast, nature lover and adventure seeker. Art, music, and travel are my greatest passions, and it is such a privilege to make my living creating artwork and forming lasting relationships with my clients. I have been tattooing for 7 years and loving every minute!
I have enjoyed creating tattoo art of every subject and style, however my specialty is freehand mandalas, as well indigenous artwork and primitive design. My great career ambition is to travel the world to study indigenous styles and further my understanding of the global and historical scope of tattoo art.
In my view, tattooing is deserving of great respect, as it is one of humanity’s oldest art forms, and is ubiquitous in every time and culture. It is a deeply engrained aspect of being human, and I am humbled to be able to continue such a storied tradition.
Another aspect of tattooing that I have discovered a passion for over the years is adding positive intention and healing to the process. Many of my clients find great catharsis in our sessions, even thinking of it as their form of therapy. A driving force in my tattooing journey is incorporating these and more healing modalities into the practice.
Art and wellness go hand in hand, and the joy of creating is for all to experience. I’m thrilled to be an addition to the Aloha Team!
My first tattoo is an ambigram of the four elements; earth, air, fire, water. I got it from an apprentice at Big Deluxe when I was 18. The design was chosen to symbolize my liberation from religion. I wanted to create a spiritual system for myself that incorporated what is in my view to be the basic elements of belief, hence the elements in the design. I saw the ambigram as an allegory for the fact that spirituality and beliefs are true for different people, depending on individual viewpoints.
My favorite tattoos to make are those involving mandalas, indigenous artwork, and primitive design. What I would love to expand in my tattoo repertoire are tattoos done in a tribal style which are of my own original design. Tattoo art that flows with the body, contains historical symbology, and empowers the wearer.
